Our Curriculum

The Children’s House Montessori School offers an approach, featuring a unique, open environment where children are enabled freedom to make choices and follow their natural interests.  Current early years education rests on the theory that “children learn best through the medium of play”.    We prepare our environment with a wide range of attractive materials and equipment and provide for a wide variety of the many types of play, in many contexts, to promote and support children’s engagement with their environment, and those in it.   Children are encouraged to explore, to think and be creative.

Through the medium of play, and guided by the principles of Montessori, Malaguzzi and Aistear all children are enabled to access and participate in our emergent, enquiry-based, anti-bias curriculum.  This enables children to learn and develop at their own pace and level of ability following their own interests.

Our curriculum supports and celebrates the uniqueness of each child;  and the diversity in our families, our culture, our community and the wider world.
